A Vulgar Interview

Q: 1) Hey Guys, Thank you for taking your time to Answer these Questions in this Written Interview. First Please Tell me about your band and history behind the band, how’d you come up with the band name too?

A: Hi, so, we’re Vulgar Speech. We’re an Heavy\Groove Metal power trio. We are: Riccardo Cauduro, voice and lead guitar, Mirko Martinello at the bass guitar, and me, Fabio Cauduro, at the drums. The story behind the name “Vulgar Speech” is quite funny. The band was born a few years ago. We were ready to play gigs and we were enthusiastic, but we didn’t have the name. So, we thought about different names, but no one of them satisfied us. But suddenly i said: “ Vulgar Speech”. It was short and easy to learn and good to ear, and also it reminded me about one of my top albums; “A Vulgar Display Of Power” by Pantera.

Q: 2) Please Describe your bands Genre of music, why you pick this Genre? What other bands would you say you sound like?

A:  Our genre is very difficult to describe. We have just got inspired by all of the bands we listen, like Pantera, Megadeth, RageAgainst The Machine, etc.
The result is a mixture of hard rock, heay metal and groove metal.

Q: 3) What is each one of your background in music, when did you start? what bands were you in previously before this?

A: Vulgar Speech was born in 2012, but we all had previous experiences in other groups. Me and my cousin Riccardo, the guitarist, played in an hard rock band. We did just a few gigs around our town, Pordenone ( italy ). Mirko, the bass player, used to play only with some friends, just for fun.

Q: 4) Can you please tell me of any new Albums that will be released, or current songs you are working on? Studio experiences?

A: We recorded and released an EP, called“ is this vulgar 2 “. It is our first work, but not the last of course! We’re working on new good stuff, and we will record a LP as soon as possible. A big problem is money and to record in Italy you need a lot of buks. This is the only reason that stops us at the moment. We are also looking for a label.

Q: 5) When you guys do Live shows? How is the overall experience of the shows that you play?

A: We often do live shows, in local, bars or pubs. Every opportunity we find, we get it.

Q: 6) Favorite Fast Food Place I will give you three to Pick from, and what would you order from there and if not what you don’t like? McDonald's , Burger King, or Wendy’s?

A: Ahahahahah, ok well.
In Italy there are only Mc Donald’s and Burgher King.
I personally don’t prefer one of them, i like both. But like all italians, i like italian food.
It’s the best food to enjoy.

Q: 7) What does Music do for you, both in Life and music in General?

A: Music is a way to escape from reality like arts in general. Our pourpose is to give to the listener emotions. Love, hate, sadness, happiness are emotions that we try to amplifie and celebrate.

Q: 8) Where do you see your band in next 5 to 10 years?

A: We have a dream, and we work very hard to achieve it. Maybe in a couple of years we’ll stand and play on the biggest stages in the world, WHY NOT? AHAHAH

Q: 9) What do you want to gain from touring all over the world with your band?

A: Our purpose is to get heard by a lot of people and also to play the music that we love and, of course, have a lot of fun. It will be a privilege to have a job that we love!

Q: 10) In your own words what are the Pros and Cons in the Music business?

A: Well, there are many pros and cons in music business. A good thing is that you have to do your best and more to be seen as an artist, i mean… There are a lots of bands in the world, and a big part of them play good rock n’ roll, so if you don’t show something more special than the others, you’ll be like the others. From the other end, in music business there are some controversies. For example, a lot of music labels control and use the bands. One day you’re on the top, and some days later you get fired. It may be frustrating.

Q: 11) In your own state of Mind what do you think of the Music Industry today compared to back 20 years ago?

A: We can’t know, but just because 20 years ago we weren’t in our parent’s thought! Ahah

Q:12) Which big 4 bands are your dream to play with?

A: Actually i think that we would like to play with any famous band!
But we surely like to play with Megadeth, Rage Against The Machine, In Flames and Disturbed.

Q:13) Who would you have as a guest on one of your Albums that’s alive or dead?

A: I personally would be excited to have a small collaboration with Ozzy Osborne. He’s my hero, a true legend, a mith.

Q: 14) Favorite Drink?
A: Coke!

Q: 15) Who drinks the most in the band?
A: Margot! ( Mirko ) ahahahah

Q: 16) Do you have any funny or embarrassing backstage stories, Stage stories, tour stories, road trip stories you wish to Share with the people?
A: Oh! We did have a lot of fun together!
We have lived the funniest situations. For example, the last year we had to play a gig in Udine. So, we went with all the instruments to the place. The gig was at a small pub, managed by an old lady. Once there, we prepared everything in time, but we could not see anyone. We thought: ”well, someone will come here”. After two hours, no one came. In the end we played in front 2 people, the lady owner and her dog! Ahah
We were disappointed, so we drank a beer and get relaxed.

Q: 17) Are you Self Managed or Do you have a personal Manager?
A: We are self managed.

Q: 18) What do you think about Social Media Today?
A: They are very important for every rock band.

A: The first concert where i’ve been to was a Deep Purple one. I was a teenager at the time.

Q: 21) Who writes the Music in the band?
A: We write the music all togheter. Usually someone has an idea, and then he shares it with us. So, all together, wetry to develope it and create something cool.
The lyrics are written by anyone. I mean, when one of us wants to write the lyrics of a song, he simply does it. The problem is when no one want to do it!

A: Yeah, one time!
